Spread a Little Christmas Cheer

*Disclaimer: This was not my idea, but it’s a good one nonetheless.

A few days ago, this story ran on the local news channel.

Apparently the Christmas Card Man is a big local deal! I didn’t see the story myself, but my friend Jen mentioned it this week on her always entertaining zippity blog. She also challenged her loyal readers to take a few minutes to send the Christmas Card Man a card this year, just to make sure his holiday is a little bit less lonely than usual. I told her I’d do that very thing, and now I’m stealing her idea.

Got five minutes, a stamp, a pen, and an extra greeting card in your pack? Why not send that greeting card to:

Christmas Card Man
c/o KHBS, Fort Smith
2415 North Albert Pike
Fort Smith, AR 72904

If you include a return address, I’ll bet you’ll get a card from Mr. Patrick Osborne himself. Plus, my friend Jen (whose idea this was) claims she’ll be your best friend AND that you’ll get “a million angel points” for sharing the Christmas cheer. And since my friend Jen is a world-renowned writer, you wanna be her best friend for sure. The angel points sound all right too.

I’ll check in again as soon as the grades are turned in, but until then, begin spreading the holiday cheer! And let me know if you’ve sent the Christmas Card Man a Christmas card for his pile.

In the meantime, I’ll be looking for the most  garish Christmas displays in town—though I doubt anyone can top the McGills’ house in Hixson, Tennessee.

PS – How are you all getting into the Christmas spirit? Shopping? Decorating? Baking? I’d love to know.
